Two Killed, Two Injured in Separate Overnight Accidents on Major Lagos Bridges

LAGOS, Nigeria — The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed two fatalities and two serious injuries resulting from two separate road accidents that occurred during the early hours of Monday, December 8, 2025. The first and more deadly incident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. According to a preliminary report from LASTMA, an unregistered vehicle carrying two occupants was traveling at excessive speed when it collided with a heavily-laden trailer. The impact killed both individuals in the car instantly. Authorities reported that the driver of the trailer fled the scene with the vehicle.
