PANIPAT, India — A woman has been arrested and confessed to drowning her six-year-old niece at a family wedding because she believed the child "looked prettier than her," according to local police. In a subsequent interrogation, the woman reportedly admitted to murdering three other children in recent years. The incident occurred on Monday, December 1, during wedding celebrations in Panipat, a city in northern India. The victim, identified as Vidhi, was attending the event with her immediate family. Her father received a call informing him she was missing, prompting a search. Approximately an hour later, Vidhi's grandmother found the child deceased in a nearby storeroom with her head submerged in water.
