The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken former Anambra State Governor and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, into custody. The arrest was confirmed on Tuesday by Ngige's former media aide, Mr. Fred Chukwuelobe. In a statement, Chukwuelobe clarified that earlier social media rumors claiming the ex-minister had been kidnapped were false, stating plainly: “Former Governor of Anambra State... Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC.” Ngige, who served as a minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari, was recently in the news after an armed attack on his convoy in Anambra State, though he was not present during the incident.
