A horrific act of violence has left a Benue State community in mourning and shock after a man was allegedly killed by his own son following a dispute over money. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the Nyamatsoo Mbagen community of Buruku Local Government Area. According to local reports, the victim, identified as Ankyambe Hembaor, was attacked by his son, Tordue, after a heated argument. The conflict reportedly began when Tordue demanded money from his father. When Ankyambe refused, his son allegedly grabbed a machete and attacked him in a fit of rage. Neighbors who heard the commotion rushed the severely injured man to Agbecha Hospital in Nyamatsoo, but he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment. Following the gruesome attack, the suspect, Tordue, fled the community. Security forces and police officers from Buruku have since been deployed to the area to search for him.
