GEORGIA, USA — A former Georgia beauty queen has been convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison for the fatal beating of her boyfriend's 18-month-old son, in a crime prosecutors said was driven by jealousy and resentment. Trinity Poague, a 20-year-old former student at Georgia Southwestern State University, was found guilty of the murder of Romeo "J.D." Williams. The jury delivered its verdict after hearing evidence that the toddler died from catastrophic injuries while in Poague's sole care in a dorm room in January 2024. A 17-year-old boy identified as Amir has been arrested by police in Maiduguri, Borno State, for the alleged murder of his neighbor's wife during a violent robbery. The incident occurred late Tuesday night in the Shuwarin II area. According to local accounts, the suspect allegedly scaled the victim's fence after the family had gone to bed, hid inside the house, and attacked the woman with a knife, stabbing her in the chest and neck.
