A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for the alleged murder of a 30-year-old nursing mother and her 10-month-old baby. The killings, which occurred in Sheme village within the Faskari Local Government Area, are said to have resulted from a violent dispute over the paternity of the child. Police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the arrest on Friday, stating that the primary suspect has confessed to the crime. According to the confession, the suspect, Sahabi Rabi'u, and an accomplice who remains at large, lured the woman and her infant to a secluded area on the outskirts of the community. There, they were attacked, killed, and their bodies set on fire before being disposed of in a well in a brutal attempt to conceal the crime.
