Africa's richest woman, billionaire businesswoman Folorunso Alakija, has offered a powerful and personal testimony, sharing her deep gratitude as a N34 billion hospital bearing her and her husband's name was officially commissioned in Osogbo, Nigeria.

The Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Medical Research and Training Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility at Osun State University, represents the culmination of a vision she describes as a divine instruction. In a heartfelt message following the commissioning ceremony, Alakija reflected on the journey from a "simple act of obedience" to a landmark institution for healthcare and education.

Alakija's statement expressed profound thanks to the key figures instrumental in realizing the project. She singled out her husband, Mr. Modupe Folarin Alakija, and their company, Famfa Oil Limited, for their foundational support.

She expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency Professor Yemi Osinbajo, former Vice President of Nigeria, for honouring the occasion by officially opening the hospital. The 250-bed pentagon-shaped hospital, equipped with CT scanners, advanced labs, and four operating theaters, is designed to be far more than a medical facility.
