Femi Aluko, the 32-year-old co-founder and CEO of the Nigerian food delivery platform Chowdeck, has celebrated a landmark achievement after his company generated a record ₦1.4 billion in transaction value over a single day.

The milestone was reached during what the company described as its "most intense weekend yet" in West Africa's competitive food delivery market.

Record-Breaking Performance Metrics

The surge in activity was driven by a public, live dashboard that allowed users to track orders in real-time, creating a viral social media event. According to a detailed report, the platform's performance was staggering:

*   Weekend Performance: Over 183,000 orders placed across Nigeria and Ghana.
*   Peak Processing Speed: 115 orders per minute during the busiest hours.
*   Logistics Scale: Riders covered a total of 727,000 kilometers, with one rider earning ₦205,000.
*   Marketing Success: The campaign drove 2.5 million app visits and widespread engagement online.

CEO's Reaction and Company Milestone

Reacting to the news on his LinkedIn page, Aluko confirmed the report and shared that Chowdeck has now surpassed 2 million registered users. In a celebratory post, he reflected on the company's rapid journey from a small startup to a major regional player.

"It feels like just yesterday that we started with three riders and two restaurant partners," Aluko wrote. "We now have more than 20k riders across 14 cities in Nigeria and Ghana... the speed of our growth is a testament to the core belief that led us to start Chowdeck: on-demand delivery can work in Africa."

He expressed gratitude to the company's team, customers, riders, and vendor partners, concluding with the tech startup motto: "It's still Day 1!"

Background on Femi Aluko and Chowdeck

Femi Aluko, an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, launched Chowdeck in 2021. Before founding the company, he built an extensive career as a software engineer and technical leader at prominent Nigerian tech firms, including a four-year stint at the fintech giant Paystack, where he rose to the position of Principal Engineer.

Under his leadership, Chowdeck has evolved from a simple food delivery service into a "super app" that connects users with restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and local markets. The company expanded into Ghana in May 2025. This latest financial milestone—₦1.4 billion in a day—underscores its position as one of West Africa's fastest-growing tech startups.
