Gunmen in Broad Daylight Robbery Cart Away Millions on Ilorin's Busy Murtala Muhammed Way

In a brazen daytime attack, a four-man armed robbery gang targeted a driver on a major road in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Friday, making off with millions of naira and leaving a trail of gunfire and injuries. The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. along Murtala Muhammed Way, directly opposite the Vanguard Newspaper office. Eyewitnesses reported that the masked assailants, arriving in an ash-colored Toyota Corolla, trailed the victim's grey Toyota Sienna (marked AA 693 GT) to the spot. Details of the Attack The robbers opened fire on the Sienna, deflating two of its left tires and forcing the driver to stop. Three masked men emerged from the Corolla while a fourth remained as the getaway driver. Gunmen Attack Church in Anambra, Kill Two, Raze Parsonage in Wave of Weekend Violence

ISIOKWE, Anambra State — A violent Sunday morning attack on St. Andrew's Anglican Church in the Lilu community has left two worshippers dead, including the wife of the church's priest, and marked a distressing escalation of insecurity in Nigeria's southeastern region. The assault, which occurred in the early hours of December 7, 2025, saw heavily armed assailants invade the church premises in Isiokwe, Ihiala Local Government Area, as congregants were preparing for service. Eyewitnesses described a scene of terror where the gunmen opened fire before setting buildings ablaze. The wife of the parish priest, Venerable Obiese, was among those killed. While the priest escaped unharmed, his residence (the parsonage) was completely razed, along with at least two vehicles and a motorcycle. The main church building was also partially burnt.
