Police in Maiduguri, Borno State, have arrested a 17-year-old boy accused of breaking into a neighbor's home, stabbing a woman to death, and stealing her phone and power bank.
A 17-year-old boy identified as Amir has been arrested by police in Maiduguri, Borno State, for the alleged murder of his neighbor's wife during a violent robbery.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night in the Shuwarin II area. According to local accounts, the suspect allegedly scaled the victim's fence after the family had gone to bed, hid inside the house, and attacked the woman with a knife, stabbing her in the chest and neck.
Following the attack, the teenager is said to have fled with the victim's mobile phone and power bank. Neighbors discovered the crime and alerted authorities, leading to a swift police response and the suspect's arrest.
The Borno State Police Command confirmed the arrest through its spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, who stated that the suspect is in custody and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities have yet to release a detailed motive or further circumstances surrounding the attack.
