Claims that U.S. President Donald Trump has been falling asleep during public events have reportedly caused concern among staff, according to a biographer, though the White House has firmly denied the allegations.
The Claims
Author Michael Wolff stated that Trump's apparent tendency to nod off has left aides unsure how to respond. "Everyone is in a low-level panic all the time about Trump falling asleep," Wolff claimed, adding that the President later "gets angry" and blames those around him.
The comments follow two incidents last week where Trump appeared to fall asleep: first during a Cabinet meeting, and days later while hosting leaders from Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo for a signing ceremony.
The Denials
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rejected the characterization, asserting the President was "listening attentively and running the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting."
President Trump addressed health-related criticism directly on his Truth Social platform, calling such speculation "treasonous" and stating, "There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me!"
