The final social media post of cryptocurrency millionaire Roman Novak, dedicated to his wife Anna, has resurfaced after the couple was found dead under tragic circumstances in the Dubai desert.
Roman, 38, and Anna Novak, 37, a former Russian TV reporter, were reported missing in October. Their bodies were discovered in November in a remote area near the UAE-Oman border. Authorities allege the couple was lured to a villa by men posing as investors, tortured in an attempt to access their crypto wealth, and killed.
Investigation and Motive
Three suspects have been detained in St. Petersburg, Russia. Reports indicate the kidnappers demanded a large ransom and tortured the couple for access to their cryptocurrency wallets, which were allegedly found empty. Roman Novak, founder of crypto transfer company Fintopio, had a reported fortune of £380 million but also a history of financial fraud, having previously received a six-year prison sentence.
A Final Tribute
Before his death, Roman Novak shared a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating 17 years with his wife. It read in part: "She still looks at me like I’m the main character. I still look at her like she’s the plot twist I never deserved... Rome didn’t change much. We did. But in all the best ways."
The couple leaves behind two children, now in the care of their grandparents.
