19-Year-Old Housemaid Arrested for Raiding Delta State Commissioner's Home

Delta State Police have arrested a 19-year-old housemaid, identified as Rosemary, for allegedly stealing foreign currencies and other personal items from the home of a State Commissioner.

According to Police Spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, the suspect, who is from Plateau State, had worked for the commissioner and his wife for over a year. In a confession, Rosemary stated that the incident stemmed from a grievance last holiday season. She claimed the commissioner had instructed his wife to give her gifts to take home to her family, but the wife later became angry and sent her away empty-handed.

Upon returning to work, Rosemary allegedly formulated a plan. When the couple traveled, she entered their bedroom and packed numerous items, including foreign currency and food. She reportedly enlisted the family driver to help move the items to a park, telling him her boss had asked her to ship the goods to someone outside the state.

After traveling with the stolen items to her home state, Rosemary broke her SIM card in an attempt to avoid detection. The police were alerted and an investigation led them to her location, where the stolen property was recovered.
