A senior police armourer in Niger State has died after shooting himself during a high-level investigation into a syndicate supplying arms and ammunition to terrorists. The incident occurred on Thursday as operatives from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) conducted an audit of the state police command's armoury in Minna. The officer, DSP Abdullahi Isah, was reportedly being investigated for his alleged role in illegally diverting weapons to bandits. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, Isah shot himself in the head with a pistol he picked up within the office during the audit process and died instantly. The investigation was triggered after the NSA's office uncovered a network within the police command involved in arms dealing.
