Sanusi Turbaned As Emir of Kano Amidst Tight Security

Former CBN Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has been turbaned as the new Emir of Kano.

The turbaning ceremony which took place earlier today amidst tight security, even as the protest which greeted Sanusi's emergence as new emir still continues. Irate youths numbering in hundreds, had taken to the streets in protest yesterday, forcing the closure of schools.

Commenting on the development, Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, said 'yes, we have some security challenges at hand but we have deployed counter measures to address them'
