Lagos 2015 Governosrship: Ikuforiji Formally Declares Intention To Run

 
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has formally declared his intention to contest governorship election in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
 
The speaker, who has for a long while been touted by many as one of the likely contenders for the Lagos State top job, has not made a formal declaration until now. 
 
He said, “I have called on God concerning my ambition and He has given me the approval to go ahead." He added that, “I have not come here to formally declare my ambition to be governor of Lagos State, what I am doing is to inform you of my intention."

He said he had also consulted widely with Party stakeholders, leaders of thought in the State, as well as with his colleagues in the House of Assembly.

Ikuforiji has been Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly for the last eight years.
