Reports have confirmed that the death toll of Boko Haram's Tuesday attack on Beneshiek town has risen to 87 and over 50 buildings burnt. Contrary to earlier reports of a lower figure of casualties, an official of Borno State Environment Protection Agency,
Mallam Saidu Yakubu, confirmed yesterday, September 19, that “87 bodies
were recovered in the bush and our people are still searching for more.”
It will be recalled that the terrorist who carried out this dastardly act were dressed in military uniforms and armed with high-powered ammunition and assault rifles.
Sad development there. We wish the government well in their efforts to curb terrorism in Nigeria.
