Renowned gospel musician, Asu Ekiye, has blamed churches in Nigeria for the poor state of gospel acts in the country.
Speaking recently in a chat with 'Sunday Express', the award-winning musican, who is also a trained accountant, decried the poor support that gospel artistes get from the church.
Said he: "The church in Nigeria is the greatest killer of talent. It is the greatest destroyer of young people who are gifted. That is why gospel music dies, because the church has impoverished gospel music...The church kills talent because they won't pay you, they won't patronize you."
